DNV certifies HTX Thanh Dat to the ASC Farm Standard, supporting responsible shrimp aquaculture in Vietnam
The certification verifies the cooperative’s farming practices against recognized environmental and social requirements for responsible aquaculture.
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 24 August 2026 – DNV has certified Camimex to the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Farm Standard, supporting the company’s commitment to responsible shrimp farming and greater transparency across the seafood value chain.
As demand for responsibly produced seafood continues to grow, certification provides producers with an independent way to demonstrate that their farming operations meet recognized environmental and social requirements.
The certification comes as aquaculture plays an increasingly important role in global food production. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), aquaculture surpassed capture fisheries as the primary source of aquatic animal production globally for the first time in 2022, highlighting the importance of responsible and sustainable farming practices as the sector continues to grow.
The ASC Farm Standard addresses key impacts associated with aquaculture production, including environmental performance, biodiversity and ecosystem protection, responsible resource use, fish health and working conditions.
For Camimex, the certification provides independent verification of its farming practices and strengthens its ability to demonstrate responsible aquaculture performance to customers and stakeholders in Vietnam and international markets.
