1-Net and DNV collaborate
Understanding Data Centre Selection and Regulatory Compliance for the FinTech Industry
1-Net and DNV Business Assurance collaborated on an event held on 29th March 2017. The main agenda of the day was “Understanding Data Centre Selection and Regulatory Compliance for the FinTech Industry”.
Participants were brought on a tour of 1-Net’s North Data Centre. For many it was their first time at a data centre but not to worry, 1-Net’s friendly team were on hand to explain the ins-and-outs of how everything works. This was very insightful and a great opportunity for everyone as it’s not every day you get to visit such a place!
Wong Ka Vin, the Managing Director of 1-Net gave a presentation on data centres and what to look out for when choosing one. This was useful for the many Fintech companies present that day who were choosing a data centre to store their servers.
Next up, DNV introduced The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a set of policies and procedures that are intended to optimize the security of credit card transactions and protect cardholders against misuse of cardholder information. You can find out more about PCI DSS here.
Cyber insurance is a growing arena, and representatives from Howden Insurance Brokers were on hand to discuss more about this. They gave real-life case studies of the importance of having cyber security, especially for firms dealing with personal data and technology.
Participants ended the day with a networking lunch which was a great way to meet new people from different industries. Everyone was eagerly discussing the data centre, their thoughts on the presentations and what they learned that day.
